Dan's treatment model, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, is family-based and focused on facilitating the child's ability to establish a secure attachment with his/her caregivers. Developmental attachment theory and research is the primary model used for relationship development and trauma resolution. Dan blends various approaches into his treatment modality. These include family therapy, Ericksonian hypnotherapy, psychodynamic principles, psychodrama, and interventions congruent with Theraplay and narrative work. He actively communicates PACE in order to co-regulate the affect associated with past experiences and to co-construct new meanings of these experiences. The workshops in July are the 6th summer of training at Colby College Dan has offered. He has presented similar training programs throughout the US and the UK over the past eight years. The workshops in Annville, Pennsylvania in July-August and October are the first seminars to be offered in this community. They are essentially the same as have been presented at Colby College, while being four days in length, rather than four and one half.
Dan is initiating a small clinical practice in Annville. Training programs are being offered periodically throughout the year as part of his practice. Annville is located within driving distancce of several airports: Harrisburg, PA 40 minutes Philadelphia, PA 1 hour 35 minutes Baltimore, MD 1 hour 50 minutes Washington, DC 2 hours 30 minutes Further information regarding the exact location and local accomodations will be provided this spring. |
